Role Overview
Responsible for assembling and packaging of explosives accessories through the use of an automated assembly line by preparing assembly components and loading of components into the automated line at the Losberg manufacturing site.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all assembled product conforms to product assembly specification
- Meet daily assembly targets
- Ensure availability and uninterrupted supply of raw materials and components
- Be able to demonstrate required assembly efficiencies
- Be able to perform raw material acceptance checks to ensure conformance to quality acceptance criteria
- Be able to report and record on raw material usage
- To work safely, conforming to the occupational health and safety act and the explosives act at all times
- Understand the safety requirements of working with hazardous materials and materials that may be susceptible to electrostatic discharge
- Ensure product and assembly preservation by enforcing correct handling procedures.
- Apply good housekeeping principles at all times
Requirements:
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or equivalent (Maths and Science)
Advantageous
- 1 year certificate in a relevant production related qualification
Experience
- 1 year demonstrated experience in the assembly and packaging of explosives accessories through the use of an automated assembly line.
- 1 year demonstrated experience in the application of the required occupational health and safety standards within an explosives environment.
Job Related Skills:
- Be able to consistently work efficiently and accurately to achieve minimum throughput targets
- Have good hand-eye coordination is and the successful applicants must have the ability to work accurately and diligently, show versatility and be able to rotate between assembly different station.
- Must be a dependable person that is able to work without direct supervision, on their own and as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve targets safely and with exceptional quality of work
- Demonstrated ability to meet daily assembly targets consistently
