Role Description The AutoCAD Draughtsman role at Meridian Energy is a full-time position based in Pretoria. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing detailed technical drawings and layouts in AutoCAD for energy-related projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards and company specifications. The role involves developing and updating shop drawings and architectural drawings, coordinating with engineers, architects, and project managers to capture design requirements and resolve technical queries. The AutoCAD Draughtsman will review and revise drawings based on feedback, maintain organized drawing records, and support project documentation and compliance. Collaboration across disciplines and consistent communication are essential to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Technical Drawing and general Drawing for engineering and construction projects.
- Candidates should possess skills in creating and interpreting Shop Drawings for fabrication and installation purposes.
- Candidates should possess skills in Civil, Mechanical & Electrical Drawings and a solid understanding of mentioned as it relates to energy and building projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (and ideally other CAD tools such as Revit or SolidWorks) for 2D and basic 3D drafting.
- Relevant technical qualification or diploma in draughting, engineering, architecture, or a related field.
- Attention to detail, ability to work to strict deadlines, and strong organizational skills for managing multiple drawing sets.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in a hybrid work environment.
- Experience in energy, utilities, construction, or related industries is beneficial, along with familiarity with applicable standards and regulations.
