Role Description The Autocad Drafter role is a full-time, on-site position based in Uganda. The Autocad Drafter will create and revise technical drawings, architectural plans, and shop drawings using CAD software according to project specifications and industry standards. Daily tasks include interpreting design briefs, collaborating with architects, engineers, and project managers, and ensuring that drawings are accurate, detailed, and compliant with relevant codes and guidelines. The role also involves maintaining organized drawing files, preparing documentation for approvals, and updating drawings based on feedback or changes during the project lifecycle. The Autocad Drafter will be expected to meet deadlines, support the design team, and contribute to efficient project delivery.
Qualifications
- Ability to produce precise Technical Drawing and general Drawing work using CAD tools.
- Experience preparing detailed Shop Drawings for fabrication, installation, or construction.
- Proficiency in Architectural Drawings and a solid understanding of Architecture principles.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to design standards and building codes.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and related drafting software; familiarity with other CAD platforms is an advantage.
- Relevant technical diploma or degree in drafting, architecture, engineering, or a related field.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple drawing assignments and meet project deadlines.
- Previous experience in construction, architectural, or engineering environments is beneficial.
