Moore Southern Cape is offering an exciting position for an Audit Supervisor in the George office.

Successful candidates will need to manage a portfolio of audit clients, with a stronger focus on individuals, owner-managed entities and smaller audits. The successful candidate will further be responsible for developing a team of SAICA trainee accountants and contributing to the overall management of the department. Candidates will need to deliver on standard role-related administrative tasks and strict statutory requirements.

We are looking for confident all-rounders with a strong people focus and an interest in working closely with individuals and smaller businesses in an advisory-driven environment. Successful candidates should enjoy mentoring and coaching young talent, building client relationships and operating effectively in a busy team environment with multiple assignments, deadlines and competing priorities.


Minimum Requirements

  • CA(SA) qualification, or currently completing APC / ITC examinations
  • Successful completion of audit traineeship (articles)
  • 0 – 2 years’ post article experience advantageous
  • Experience with individuals, SMEs and smaller audit engagements advantageous
  • Proficient in application of SA GAAP, IFRS and ISA
  • Proficiency in Caseware and Microsoft products
  • Ability to complete an entire audit file, delegate work and follow-up on tasks
  • Excellent writing and reporting skills
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Able to perform a mentoring and supervisory role to trainee accountants
  • Able to maintain excellent working relationships with team members, partners, managers and clients
  • Proactive – being able to plan projects and activities well in advance
  • Able to deal with pressure and setbacks

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching and training to SAICA trainee accountants to improve performance
  • Delegate work appropriately and fairly to trainee accountants
  • Set appropriate standards and create a positive work climate
  • Provide junior staff with clear direction, goals and objectives
  • Perform audit fieldwork
  • Produce reports that are clear, concise and error free
  • Analyse data effectively and interpret client information correctly
  • Maintain effective client relations
  • Manages own and other’s time effectively
  • Monitors progress and performance against budgets, deadlines and milestones
