Role Description
BIU is expanding its part-time teaching team across multiple disciplines, including Business Management, Accounting & Finance, Human Resources, Logistics & Supply Chain, Law, Marketing & Sales, Information Technology, Tourism & Hospitality, and English (Business, Academic, and Exam Preparation).
The Associate Professor will be responsible for delivering high-quality lectures, seminars, and tutorials to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students in their area of specialization. Day-to-day activities include preparing course materials, developing syllabi, assessing student performance, providing academic advising, and maintaining accurate records of grades and attendance. The role also involves contributing to curriculum development, engaging in scholarly activities where applicable, and participating in departmental and university committees. The Associate Professor is expected to mentor junior faculty, support accreditation and quality assurance processes, and foster an inclusive, student-centered learning environment.
This is a part-time, contract, on-site role based in Cocody, structured as modules of approximately 30 to 40 teaching hours. Compensation is on an hourly rate basis.
Qualifications
– Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in higher education; a PhD or equivalent terminal degree is an advantage.
– Proficiency in curriculum design, course planning, and assessment methods, with the ability to integrate innovative and student-centered teaching practices.
– Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to teach and collaborate effectively in a multicultural and international academic environment; proficiency in English required, French proficiency is an asset.
– Experience in academic advising and mentoring students; research experience or publications are a plus but not required.
– Commitment to inclusive education, ethical academic practices, and continuous professional development; prior experience in African or international universities is an advantage.
