VACANCY: ASSISTANT MECHANIC
Location: MIDMAR QUARRY
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Assistant Heavy-duty Mechanic to join our quarry maintenance team. The successful candidate will assist with the maintenance, servicing, and repair of quarry equipment, vehicles, and machinery to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist mechanics with routine servicing and repairs of quarry machinery and equipment (excavators, Front end loaders , dumper trucks)
- Perform basic maintenance tasks, including lubrication, cleaning, and component replacement.
- Assist in diagnosing mechanical faults and reporting defects.
- Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
- Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- Basic mechanical knowledge and understanding of heavy equipment maintenance.
- Previous experience in a mechanical or engineering environment will be advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work overtime when required.
