Luxury Hotel based in Stellenbosch is looking for an Assistant Housekeeping Manager to inspect the cleanliness and appearance of guest accommodation, including all outside areas in and around units, all public spaces and see that all staff performing housekeeping operations carry out their assignments in accordance with established standards.
Duties:
Oversea the daily operations of the Department along with Supervisors
Check stock level of all amenities in HKP, liaise with Management to order accordingly
Provide ongoing training and support to housekeeping staff to enhance their skills and ensure adherence to company standards
Observe staff’s overall grooming standard that they are all well dressed and groomed
Conduct daily morning briefing with staff and a shift debrief with Management at the end of shift
Always communicate with staff in a professional manner, making sure instructions are clearly understood
Conduct monthly inventory for Guest Amenities & Linen inventory
Allocation of work assignments to all Room Attendants to ensure maximum coverage daily
Observe Porters are completing their assigned tasks as well as providing clean linen & collecting there of
Compile duty schedule together with Housekeeping Manger to ensure all areas are covered
Liaise with Laundry to ensure we are on time with linen
Ensure that policies for lost and found items are being followed
Observe the Room Attendants, making sure they follow the correct cleaning procedures
Ensure arrival rooms are ready by 15h00, always liaise with FO if any possible delay for arrivals
Oversee department in the absence of Housekeeping Manager
Ensure Room Attendants follow the correct procedures regarding rooms
Compile any reports required by Management when required
Observe any maintenance problems in the rooms and follow the proper procedures
Taking effective actions to achieve cleanliness and upkeep of the entire property
Assist Management in preventative maintenance plan for all rooms & public spaces
Handling Guest requests and complaints in an appropriate and professional manner
Address any HR related matters with Management and HR
Overseeing and directing inspection procedures to ensure continuous high levels of cleanliness and detail are being maintained
Overseeing and directing general cleaning procedures to ensure the housekeeping staff’s compliance with expected standards for cleanliness and detail
Monitor and coach Housekeeping Team leaders in all training aspects within the department supporting their role when required including any training they may need
Requirements:
Grade 12
Certificate or Diploma in Hospitality will be an advantage
A minimum of 3+ years of experience in a Housekeeping Supervisor role in a 4/5
* luxury property
Impeccable communication skills both written and verbal
High level of physical endurance
Must be computer literate
Leadership experience
Strong training skills and experience
Effective rostering abilities
Knowledgeable with the controlling of expenses and inventories
Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
