Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Bring your expertise in sign language interpretation to an impactful contract opportunity supporting students and staff in a dynamic school environment. This full-time, full-school-year position offers the chance to work closely with special education (SPED) and general education (Gen Ed) classrooms, providing essential communication access to students across a variety of academic settings.

As an onsite-only, itinerant interpreter, you’ll travel between multiple school sites, collaborating with educators and service teams to support students with varying needs—from mild to severe. Your skills will be instrumental in ensuring equitable participation for all learners.

Qualifications:

• Valid EIPA Score of 3.5 or higher is required
• Demonstrated experience in educational settings, preferably with both SPED and Gen Ed populations
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Flexibility and adaptability for working at multiple locations
• Professionalism, strong communication, and teamwork abilities

Responsibilities:

• Provide sign language interpretation for students, staff, and groups during classroom instruction and school activities
• Support both individual and group interpreting needs, adapting to diverse classroom environments
• Foster inclusive learning experiences for students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Maintain accurate, confidential records related to interpreting assignments
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and school administrators
• Travel between assigned schools as part of your regular itinerary
