As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Area Sales Manager to join our Baking Division. The purpose of this role is to manage sales of the company’s products and services in within a defined geographic area, province or country.
The role will be based in Pietermaritzburg and reports to the General Manager.
Minimum Requirements
- Matric
- Minimum Master’s Degree (preferably in Business administration, sales, marketing or arts).
- 2-4 years’ experience in sales. 2 of which must be as a Sales manager.
- Valid Driver’s Licence
Duties & Responsibilities
Turnover
- Draw up action plans for customer visits in conjunction with GM.
- Monitor sales per route.
- Reach budget set for Bakery.
Information Basis
- Determine customer needs.
- Check bread quality in shops.
- Keep customer profiles.
- Keep opposition profile and discuss with GM.
- Check route times.
Customer Relations
- Maintain good company image.
- Handle complaints effectively.
- Build up relationships with relevant community organisations.
- Check sales team appearances, daily on route visits.
Reporting
- Report to operations manager on general progress made
- Responsible to operations manager for overall performance.
Training
- Re-enforce “Working for customers” with sales team i.e. Core Service Values and Sunbake Primary Service Package as well as modules covered in “Route Management “course.
- Monitor sales team conduct.
- Give on-the-job training if required.
