A Toe Truck is a fast-paced, multi-location towing and recovery company seeking a motivated and dependable Mechanic’s Apprentice to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their mechanical skills while working in the towing and heavy-duty equipment industry.
We operate across seven locations throughout the Colorado River Basin and are looking for someone who is hardworking, organized, and willing to learn.
Responsibilities
- Assist mechanics with maintenance and repair work on tow trucks and company vehicles
- Travel between all seven company locations as needed
- Deliver and pick up parts, tools, and equipment
- Wash and detail tow trucks and fleet vehicles
- Assist with vehicle impound releases
- Keep shop areas clean, organized, and safe
- Perform basic shop and yard duties
- Help maintain inventory and organization of parts and supplies
- Provide roadside repairs when needed, such as delivering fuel, changing tires and performing lockouts
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of related mechanical or automotive experience
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must pass background check and drug test
- Ability to lift heavy parts and equipment
- Willingness to travel between locations during the workday
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented
- Use computers and shop software for parts lookup, work orders, inventory tracking, and basic administrative tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working around tow trucks, diesel vehicles, trailers, or heavy equipment
- Basic knowledge of automotive tools and maintenance procedures
- Experience driving trucks or towing equipment is a plus
Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
