Founded in 2019, we focus on practical, real-world training delivered through modern online learning platforms. Due to continued growth in our animals, wildlife, and agriculture course catalogue, we are expanding our student support team and are seeking a knowledgeable tutor to support students across multiple geographies.

The Role

As an Animals, Wildlife & Agriculture Tutor, you will support online students studying our range of animal care, plant-based, and agriculture courses throughout their learning journey, working remotely as part of a global student support team. You will provide learning guidance, feedback, and mentoring to students located across different time zones, including Australia, New Zealand, and Canada.

This is a full-time, fully remote position, ideal for someone based in South Africa with relevant hands-on experience in animal care, wildlife, agriculture, or horticulture who is passionate about education and helping beginner students succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Marking and providing constructive feedback on student assignment submissions in both written and video/photo format
  • Conducting student support calls via phone and video
  • Responding to student enquiries via email with clear and supportive guidance
  • Completing onboarding and welcome calls for new students
  • Providing both course-specific and general learning support
  • Supporting students across multiple geographies and time zones

About You

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Relevant education or formal training in one or more of the following areas: animal care (domestic or wildlife), veterinary assistance, nature conservation, horticulture, agriculture (including livestock, beef, or related farming), or a related field
  • A minimum of 2 years hands-on experience working in at least one relevant role — this could include animal care, wildlife rehabilitation, pet grooming, veterinary support, livestock or beef farming, general agriculture, nursery work, gardening, conservation, or a similar field
  • A working knowledge across animal, plant, and/or agriculture topics sufficient to support students studying at a beginner level
  • Strong written communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, professional, and encouraging feedback
  • Confident verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain concepts, expectations, and improvements clearly
  • High level of basic computer literacy, including:
  • Confidence using email and online communication tools
  • Ability to navigate online learning platforms and internal systems
  • Comfort reviewing video and photo submissions and providing detailed written feedback
  • A genuine interest in education, coaching, and mentoring students in an online learning environment
  • A professional, friendly, and student-focused approach, with strong customer service skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to assess practical work against clear criteria consistently and fairly
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet assessment turnaround expectations

It would be nice to have:

  • Previous teaching, tutoring, assessing, or training experience (online or in-person)
  • Experience working in an online education or digital learning environment
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) or CRM-style platforms
  • Experience reviewing and marking practical video and photo submissions
  • Experience providing structured, written feedback aligned to learning outcomes
  • Experience supporting students remotely across different countries and time zones
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training, quality reviews, and process improvements

Work Requirements

  • Full-time availability
  • Ability to work remotely with a reliable internet connection and reliable power source/back-up if required
  • Basic Windows or Apple computer, either PC or laptop is fine
  • Availability to work within the following hours.
  • 3am – 3pm:00pm

Salary & Benefits

Salary: R275,000 – R285,000 ZAR, subject to exchange rate fluctuations.
