As we continue to grow, we are looking for a reliable and detail-driven Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team.
Job Summary
The Accounts Receivable Clerk plays a key role in maintaining the financial health of the organization by ensuring accurate processing of payments, timely reconciliations, and consistent follow-up on receivables. This position supports multiple dealership operations and requires strong attention to detail and organization.
Responsibilities
- Reconcile and deposit daily service and parts receipts, including credit card transactions
- Process all funds received from vehicle sales and verify balances due
- Post cash receipts and maintain accurate accounts receivable ledgers
- Prepare daily bank deposits and complete cash control sheets
- Reconcile customer statements and follow up on outstanding balances
- Generate and distribute monthly accounts receivable statements
- Process credit card deposits and resolve discrepancies
- Handle chargebacks, returns, and insufficient funds (NSF) checks
- Assist with vehicle invoice retrieval and payoff processing
- Respond to customer account inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Maintain and update customer account records
- Track and maintain monthly holdback schedules
- Enter vehicle inventory and report sold units through manufacturer systems
- Post and reconcile daily fuel credits
- Assist with cross-training, administrative coverage, and special projects as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Prior accounting, receivables, or office experience preferred (automotive experience is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Solid math and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency with computers and ability to learn dealership management systems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced dealership environment
