Role Description The Accountant (XBRL) role is a full-time, on-site position based in Cairo, Egypt. This role focuses on preparing, reviewing, and maintaining financial statements and reports in XBRL format in line with regulatory, compliance, and reporting standards. Day-to-day tasks include mapping financial data to XBRL taxonomies, verifying accuracy and consistency of tagged data, and collaborating with technical teams to integrate XBRL outputs into AI-driven platforms and reporting tools. The Accountant (XBRL) will also support month-end and year-end closing activities, assist in audits, monitor changes in accounting and XBRL reporting requirements, and prepare documentation and guidelines for internal stakeholders. The role involves close coordination with finance, data, and product teams to ensure high-quality, reliable financial information for internal and external use.
Qualifications
- Strong accounting, financial reporting, and general ledger management skills, with solid knowledge of IFRS or other relevant accounting standards.
- Hands-on experience with XBRL preparation, taxonomy mapping, and validation tools, plus familiarity with regulatory reporting platforms.
- Proficiency in financial analysis and data reconciliation, including the ability to identify discrepancies and ensure data integrity.
- Comfort working with accounting and ERP software; familiarity with spreadsheet tools and basic data management concepts.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial and XBRL concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are an advantage.
- Experience collaborating with technology or AI-focused teams is a plus; openness to learning new tools and systems is essential.
