Role Overview
As an Accountant, you will play a key role in managing the financial health of the business. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and supporting strategic decision-making through insightful financial reporting.
POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
- Compile financial statements and management reports
- Monitor and analyze cost structures, particularly within a manufacturing environment
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, VAT submissions, and statutory requirements
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Liaise with auditors and support audit processes
- Oversee inventory accounting and reconcile stock records
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Completed SAIPA, SAICA articles, or similar professional training (advantageous)
- Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory management
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of South African tax laws and financial regulations
