As we continue to grow, RCL FOODS is searching for a Fixed Asset Accountant with a strong Fixed Asset background to join our Sugar Team.

The purpose of the role is to manage and control the national fixed assets, additions and disposals; and balance/reconcile the fixed asset register. The role will be based in Malelane and report to the Finance Manager.

Minimum Requirements

  • Com Degree in Accounting, with experience in fixed assets.
  • MS Office with proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP (advantageous).
  • Knowledge of fixed asset management principles, IFRS and tax regulations and requirements.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Action-oriented, self-starter with initiative and assertiveness.
  • To be considered for appointment, candidate must be a South African citizen.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Asset Management: Control and maintain the company’s fixed assets, including additions, disposals, and reconciliations of the fixed asset register.
  • Additions and Capitalisation: Manage CAPEX processes by ensuring requests are appropriately approved, projects are opened, useful lives reviewed, funds transferred, and assets are timeously capitalised.
  • Monthly Processing: Oversee depreciation runs, finance lease postings, and settlement runs.
  • Reporting: Prepare month-end, year-end, forecasting, budgeting, taxation and ad-hoc reports.
  • Physical Asset Verification: Coordinate and supervise annual physical asset verification and useful life assessment.
  • Compliance: Maintain the Fixed Asset Register in accordance with SARS and IFRS requirements.
  • Data Integrity: Ensure accurate and timely data capturing to support reliable reporting and decision-making.
  • Leadership: Manage and provide guidance to the Fixed Asset Team.
  • SAP Super-User: Maintain and optimise SAP fixed asset functionality, supporting team members and resolving system-related queries.
  • SAP S/4Hana: Play a pivotal role in preparing and migrating Fixed Assets to SAP S/4Hana, ensuring a smooth transition and alignment with best practices.
  • Audit: Support audits and implementing corrective actions to address findings and strengthen controls.
