We are on the lookout for a vibrant and dynamic individual to join our Finance Team.
Qualifications
1.1. Completed B Com/ Btech Degree or similar tertiary education in accounting
1.2. 3-5 years’ work experience as an accountant
1.3. Proven ability to analyse management accounts
1.4. Strong communication & presentation skills
1.5. Knowledge of and experience in working on SAGE/Payspace
Responsibilities
General:
2.1 Understanding the Company’s trading environment and business operations in detail.
2.2 Maintaining an accurate and complete set of accounts
2.3 Capturing from source documents to trial balance and managing full debtors, creditors, cashbook and general ledger.
2.4 Preparing monthly bank reconciliations
2.5 Maintain the petty cash and ensuring it balances at all times
2.6 Process journals in the General Ledger
2.7 Process intercompany transactions and monthly intercompany invoicing
2.8 Ensure intercompany loans are in balance
2.9 Oversee the fixed asset recons and maintain a complete fixed asset register for all companies.
2.10Perform morning banking, counting monies and preparing the documentation for CIT collections.
Statutory:
2.11 Preparing and submitting VAT returns
2.12 Handling SARS queries and responses
2.13 Reviewing monthly VAT201s and EMP201s
2.14 Reviewing return of earnings for workmen’s Compensation
2.15 Ensuring that all companies’ taxes are always reconciled and that all companies have a valid tax clearance certificate at all times.
Debtors:
2.16 Review age analysis for overdue payments and give feedback to FD.
Creditors:
2.17 Review creditor recons and ensure our accounts reconcile with the supplier’s statement and give feedback to FD on long outstanding queries.
Cashbook:
2.18 Ensure that correct allocations are processed to correct accounts
2.19 Oversee the daily cash recons
2.20 Review petty cash recons
