BEL Network Integration & Support (BELNIS) is a Virginia-based managed service provider (MSP) founded in 1989. We serve small-to-mid-sized businesses across central Virginia with managed IT services, cybersecurity, and technology advisory. Our clients include healthcare practices, real estate firms, nonprofits, professional services companies, and government contractors. We’re a team of five — which means every person here is high-impact, highly visible, and genuinely matters.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Account Executive is the primary relationship owner for a book of BELNIS clients. This is a customer-facing, people-first role — not a technical engineering position. You will own client relationships end to end: conducting regular business reviews, managing contract renewals, coordinating internally with our engineering team, and making sure our clients feel genuinely supported.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in account management, customer success, or B2B client services — and the ability to have a confident conversation with a CEO, office manager, or practice administrator without needing to be an engineer. We will train you on the technical side. You bring the relationship skills, organizational discipline, and follow-through.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the named relationship owner for an assigned portfolio of SMB clients across central Virginia
  • Conduct regular client health check-ins and proactive outreach to surface needs before they become problems
  • Facilitate onboarding for new clients — set expectations, establish communication paths, and build trust from day one
  • Handle client concerns and escalations with professionalism and a solution-oriented approach
  • Own offboarding when client relationships conclude — documented, organized, and thorough

Business Reviews & Account Strategy

  • Lead end-to-end Strategic Business Reviews (SBRs) for all assigned accounts
  • Prepare data-driven review presentations that translate technology health and risk into plain business language
  • Present findings confidently to executives, owners, and decision-makers — no jargon required
  • Document action items, follow up within five business days, and track commitments to resolution

Renewal & Revenue Management

  • Manage all contract renewals for assigned accounts, initiating conversations 90+ days before expiration
  • Identify and surface upsell and expansion opportunities across your book of business
  • Review monthly client invoices for accuracy and coordinate with the Service Manager on billing questions
  • Maintain an updated view of your renewal pipeline and communicate changes to leadership proactively

Internal Coordination & Team Alignment

  • Contribute to weekly account status meetings, briefing engineers and leadership on client priorities and risk flags
  • Coordinate with project leads on resource scheduling for upcoming client-facing work
  • Maintain and audit accurate CRM records in ConnectWise PSA: contacts, agreements, site data, and opportunity notes
  • Deliver structured client feedback internally to drive continuous service improvement

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • 2+ years of experience in account management, customer success, client services, or B2B relationship management
  • Proven track record managing ongoing client relationships — not just transactions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to explain complex topics in plain, accessible language
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines simultaneously
  • Comfortable using a CRM or business software platform; ConnectWise or similar PSA experience is a plus
  • Valid Virginia driver’s license and reliable transportation for local client visits
  • Comfortable using AI tools to analyze data and prepare client-facing reports and presentations

Nice to Have (Not Required — We Train)

  • Previous experience working with or for an IT managed service provider (MSP) or technology company
  • Exposure to cybersecurity, compliance, or cyber insurance conversations at a business level
  • Familiarity with central Virginia’s SMB industries: healthcare, real estate, nonprofit, legal, or government contracting
  • Experience in a small, close-knit team environment where adaptability and initiative are everyday requirements

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

First 90 Days

  • Complete onboarding review for all assigned accounts; complete at least one scheduled touchpoint per client
  • Shadow and then independently lead a minimum of two business reviews
  • Understand BELNIS’s service offerings, pricing model, and client profile

End of Year One

  • Maintain 95%+ client retention across your assigned book of business
  • All assigned accounts have a documented, current business review cycle on the calendar
  • At least two upsell or expansion opportunities identified and advanced
  • No unaddressed billing discrepancies or overdue renewal conversations

Pay: $54,000.00 – $66,000.00 per year
