ABNORMAL LOAD DRIVER / SUPERVISOR Jobs in Fourways at WPM Consulting
Minimum Requirements
- Valid Abnormal Load Driver’s Licence and relevant permits.
- Minimum 9 years’ proven experience in abnormal load transportation and supervision.
- Demonstrated experience in the transportation, delivery, positioning, and placement of modular buildings, park-homes, portable structures, or similar units.
- Sound knowledge of road transport regulations, route planning, escort requirements, and abnormal load safety procedures.
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, including transport teams, crane operators, rigging crews, site management, and traffic authorities.
- Excellent communication and supervisory skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and supervise the transportation of park-home units from the manufacturing facility to the project site.
- Conduct route assessments and ensure compliance with all abnormal load transport regulations and permit requirements.
- Manage and supervise drivers, escort vehicles, and transport personnel during loading, transportation, and offloading activities.
- Coordinate the safe delivery, positioning, and placement of park-home units on prepared foundations.
- Liaise with project management, site personnel, crane operators, and subcontractors to ensure efficient installation operations.
- Monitor compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements throughout transportation and installation activities.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and verify the roadworthiness of transport equipment.
- Identify and mitigate transportation and installation risks to prevent damage to assets, infrastructure, and personnel.
- Maintain accurate transportation records, permits, inspection reports, and daily activity reports.
Relevant Experience
- The candidate shall provide evidence of having successfully completed projects involving:
- Transportation and delivery of modular buildings, prefabricated structures, park-homes, or similar abnormal load units.
- Supervision of abnormal load movements and escort operations.
- Placement and positioning of modular structures using cranes or other lifting equipment.
- Coordination of delivery and installation activities on industrial, commercial, rail, or infrastructure projects.
