Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented 2nd Shift Safety Coordinator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment during the second shift, promoting safety awareness, and supporting compliance with all relevant safety regulations. The ideal candidate is passionate about occupational health and safety, enjoys working in a team setting, and is committed to fostering a safety-first culture across all operations.
Duties
- Monitor daily manufacturing operations to identify potential safety hazards and implement corrective actions promptly to ensure compliance with OSHA standards.
- Conduct safety training sessions and develop educational materials to enhance workers’ understanding of OSHA, EPA, and other safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across all departments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in safety training and education for employees on topics such as First Aid, LOTO, Machine Guarding, HazCom and other important regulations.
- Investigate workplace incidents or accidents thoroughly to determine root causes and prepare feedback in writing to document findings.
- Act as First Responder as needed and coordinate emergency response plans and ensure all staff are trained in proper procedures for various scenarios.
- Promote a culture of safety by engaging with employees at all levels and encouraging proactive safety practices.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of safety, security, first aid or work-related field experience preferred
- Bilingual preferred (English/Spanish)
- Conduct plant safety training when required
- Promote a culture of safety by engaging with employees at all levels and encouraging proactive safety practices.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required
- Self-motivated with the ability to follow up on daily assignments, short term and long-term projects
- Detail oriented with ability to work in a faced paced environment
- Must be willing and able to walk through out the plant for at least 50% of the day.
- Valid driver’s license to drive company vehicles for short distances between buildings
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
